50 shades

it took me an entire month to rid my hair of the green tone my blue hair left and I finally went gray!

it's not as gray as I had hoped but it's definitely a noticeable gray and I really love it, especially for autumn / winter.

I get my hair done at Studio Kay Salon in Glendale by LaraCKay. She's amazing and never over processes or f's up my hair.

She started by adding bleach to my hair to help lift any left over green and to open my hair cuticle to hold the gray. She finger weaved into my hair to blend and didn't use foil because we didn't want to over bleach my hair (bless).

I sat for about 15-20 mins before we washed it out. I was a almost platinum blonde at my tips at this point.

She then mixed a chrome toner and pravana silver into my hair. I sat for 30-40mins before she rinsed me and reapplied more pravana to my tips, where I sat for another 20mins.

Wash + Blowdry and I was left with this gorgeous ashy gray tone.

I'm looking into buying pravana silver to add to my conditioner just to touch it up on my own, but aside from that, I love it.

blue hair blues

My blue hair journey began a lot like this: I love Kylie Jenner. I want to dye my hair. I want to dye my hair like Kylie Jenner's. And this all seemed good in retrospect. I bought two shades of manic panic semi permanent hair dye: voodoo blue and atomic turquoise, went to my hairdresser and let her do her thing. I figured semi permanent dye would fade quickly and allow me some time to decide if I really liked the color or not (my hair was ombré prior).

However, I didn't do thorough enough research because my hair faded very slowly and very green-ly. It took about a 7 week process for my blue hair to fade and only seem slightly chlorine blonde (like I just bleached my hair and went swimming for a week). I also ended up using clarifying shampoo 4x a week to help get rid of the color. Clarifying shampoo can be really drying on most hair types, but it worked perfectly well for me.

Aside from the fading process, I have extremely fine and oily hair. During my first few weeks of blue hair I was limited to washing my hair 2-3x a week to prevent instant fading, using dark towels, sleeping on dark towels (my sheets are white), and dripping blue all over the shower. I even felt limited to only wearing neutral colored tops and nail varnish because it really looked weird with brightly colored hair.

Easy to say, it wasn't the best hair color choice for someone as low-hair maintenance as me. I still think it's such a pretty color and sometimes miss it, but the upkeep and fading process was just not worth it for me :(

a few seconds left of summer.

so, as mentioned in my last blog where I recall some of the greatest days of my life, I mentioned meeting the boys from 5sos!
I also met Ashton and Calum, but they seemed a bit tired so I didn't bother them for photos. But can we take a few seconds to appreciate the stature and height of these over 6ft Australian babes. Luke is so sweet and Michael is so adorable in person. Pictures won't and don't do him justice, but in person he is just the cutest thing. yeah and their music is okay too *sarcasm* lol

Post Concert Depression Sept 11-13.

SO this past week i had the fortunate and uneconomical opportunity to see One Direction 3 times—all their shows at the Rosebowl. It’s taken me about a good week to finally process the entire concert and find the strength to verbalize my experience.
- So Day1 I had VIP tickets, which were really expensive but really worth it!!! We arrived early and it was hotter than harry styles’ ass, so you know it was really hot. I was literally sweating everywhere, and i was wearing bf jeans! Not the best idea. Finally after waiting, I got to my seat and could not even comprehend how close i was: my hands were literally shaking. They started off with Midnight Memories and my entire body combusted because seeing them so close and live is just an ethereal experience. I took over 200 photos that day and had so much energy. The fireworks and streamers from various songs made the Rosebowl seem like Disneyland and it was just the best thing ever. I was literally in awe of them and could not understand how I would survive an additional two days of them!!
- Day2 was a bit more hectic because we ended up parking in the farthest lot and arrived just as 5sos was performing. I was sweating from running through the parking lots and couldn’t even be bothered to watch 5sos that day. However, their songs were beginning to grow on me -_-. Well, once arriving to my seat i couldn’t believe how close i was to the 2nd stage!!!! I was about one section over, and from my experience the first day, i knew that they spent most of their time on the second stage anyways. Once again One Direction came out and blew me away. Harry wore this white tshirt, which complimented his tan complexion so well, and allowed me to capture another 200+ photos. During this performance I think I realized just how much One Direction have grown from seeing them at the Staples Center and seeing them grow as individuals as well as a group. I began to cry during Don’t Forget Where You Belong. It could have been from the emotional impact from the song as well, but i concluded that it was from the emotional realization i made and Harry Styles being so damn handsome. He literally made/makes me so happy.
- Day3 was definitely the best day ever. I came with a plan— because my seat was right in front of second stage, i planned to flash harry styles. AND CAN I JUST SAY SUCCESS. BUT WE WILL GET TO THAT LATER. Okay, SOOOOO being so close to the stage was just life chaining because seeing them in person is one thing, but seeing them upclose and personal is LIFE CHANGING. I FIND IT MENTALLY HARD TO BELIEVE THAT ZAYN MALIK IS REAL. he is literally so damn handsome in real life. while video recording i could not figure out if i wanted to focus on Louis or Zayn because they are both so appealing and god-like. Zayn seemed a lot more into that concert that night, and well it was Niall’s birthday, so everyone was just in the best mood and it could be felt throughout the stadium. Zayn’s high notes weren’t as amazing as some video’s i’ve seen, so i’m not sure if he was just not feeling it, and he doesn’t seem to interact with the crowd as much as the other boys, but i pinned that to his more reserved personality. Liam is such a sweetheart and dances so well! He really knows how to command and move the crowd and gets so into it. Niall was absolutely adorable, and i understand where these Niall girls come from now. He was so happy the entire night and had these balloons tied to his guitar. He was like a total rock star up close. HE EVEN WAVED AT ME TWICE!! i was like dead. He was so cute when everyone sang happy birthday to him, and just a happy little blushing leprechaun. it was great to witness!
OKAY SO BACK TO HARRY STYLES AKA MY TRUE LOVE FOREVER.
He is swifter than a fucking raging river. He literally gallops across stage and sings and dances and it’s just astonishing to watch. I literally could not believe how close we were, i had tears in my eyes from being less than 10ft away from him. He’s constantly working the crowd and really gets everyone into it. He was really putting his all into the show. I think he was a bit tired out and having chest pains, but he really pushed through it. He told the cute story about Niall and led everyone to sing happy birthday to him, and it was great to witness. Seeing Harry on stage was a bit depressing because i just find it difficult to believe someone as perfect and charming as him exists. He oozes pop star and it’s clear he’s right where he belongs when you see him on stage. My plan to flash him went a lot like this: flash him. So i ended up trying about 4 times, but because he moved around so often, it was so hard! SOOOO FINALLY MY TIME TO SSHINE CAME when he proceeded to thank everyone for coming to the show at the end. As he was walking from one side of the second stage towards to front (where i was) I just flashed him. and he stopped mid walk and just STARED. as Tia as my witness, he saw my boobs and stared and it was the best moment of my life. I was in tears of excitement because omg harry styles just saw my boobs and it was amazing.
ALL IN ALL. going to all 3days was one of the best experiences of my life. Spending over 1,000$ all together on concert tickets probably wasn’t the smartest idea, but the experience i’ve gained from it truly makes up for it. I would do it again in a heartbeat and can’t wait for next years concerts! and i’ll probably never get over harry styles ever. so yeah
———- meeting 5sos.
Ooo So i also got the chance to meet 5sos before they descended on their journey to Arizona for their next show. I met 4/4, but they all seemed a bit overwhelmed and tired. I felt really bad. But Luke and Michael were so sweet and so TALL. like boys over 6ft can get it. Ashton seemed really overwhelmed so i just hugged him instead of taking a pic. But Luke was so nice and gave me 2 hugs. I told him how he was so tall, because i’m so little, and he’s like “oh no it’s because i’m on a hill,” but really, he’s so freaking tall. And I though Ashton was my fav, but then i met Michael, and he is just SOOOO CUTE in person, and has the most adorable cute voice. I THINK I MIGHT BE A MICHAEL GIRL BUT IDK. they are just all so cute and bae. ugh. but harry styles 4eva. okay RIP ME and my vagina.

gay 90's

I was lucky enough to catch Mark Ryden's collection at the Kohn Gallery in LA ! It opened late May, and I was dying to go but couldn't find the time, but thankfully in its last weekend I was able to check it out. The gallery didn't disappoint--other than the fact that it consisted of two rooms and only took about 45 minutes to get through the entire thing (it was way too short).
his work is phenomenal and had you could see all the hard work and creativity he put into it. Everything from the backgrounds to the frames! the detailing on the frames were so breathtaking and every little design was intricate and well executed. I would seriously pay to just have those frames (if I was rich lol).

the side room had a series of sketches by Ryden and one of them thoroughly explained each and every detail in one of his paintings and I couldn't believe how everything in it stood for and represented somethjng. he's such an amazing artist and I would definitely check out his work if you're free!

ego n greedy

after debating for the longest time i finally purchased the Ego & Greed: She Cray's . I was a bit hesitant because of the price, and anything over $100 is a lot to a poor college gal like myself. But with the flatform and platform 90's trend coming back so hard, i knew i wouldn't be able to hold out much longer.

So I purchased these bad boys in black so they could be a bit more versatile, and i won't lie, i was a bit apprehensive when they came in the mail because the 3 inch platform is a bit intimidating. But once i put them on and walked around i realized how a m a z i n g they are!

they're so comfortable and easy to walk in, but i have bad a few close calls with a broken ankle and some uneven gravel. overall they're absolutely perfect! i'm able to dress them both up and down and i've worn them to numerous concerts and i haven't complained once. I def. recommend to anyone thats interested in them or debating, because i honestly do not regret the purchase at all!
